Sprints or marathons; We can help you to achieve your goals.
Different distances uses different training and energy zones. Most top sprinters, especially at 100m don’t even breathe during the race because they don’t need to. Why? Because it uses the anaerobic zone of training which means that no oxygen is required. As we get further and further with distance then we start creaping into the aerobic zone which requires oxygen to train with. Even a 10k race is about 30% anaerobic. Most of you will have experienced the anaerobic zone, where your breathing becomes really laboured and muscles get that burning sensation. It is not pleasant but a Body Solutions personal trainer can design a programme that will help you run further and faster into these high intensity zones while also improving your overall endurance.
Techniques like hill training and interval training are great for improving your running speed. Practising these techniques could decide if you are physically able to put on a sprint finish in a race or you hit the wall and stroll through the line. Running is very technical but it could also just mean your personal trainer tweaking you running style or posture to improve your overall running. At Body Solutions, we like to train all muscle fibres for running for a more conditioned runner. Plyometric and resistance training will improve power and also improve speed. Doing upper body resistance will also help running style because the arms govern the legs. All sprinters have their hands high, shoulders relaxed and arms swinging fast back and forth because the arms govern the legs. The better arm power then the better the stride power.
