Tennis Training

As a game, tennis is played using one side of the body in most cases. Even when the two handed grip is used, there is only one side of the body that leans towards the shots. This can cause muscular imbalances which can affect posture and increase the risk of injury. In general, one arm gets the brunt of the force and the other arm becomes lazy and weak. Body Solutions personal trainers will train both sides of the body to create a more balanced player. At Body Solutions our experienced personal trainers will develop core strength which will help overall power and strength in reaching those difficult shots, minimising your risk of injury and making you a more balanced player.

We will also use a combination of resistance and cardio based training to improve your stamina and muscular power, strength and endurance. This can distinguish who can last that tie break and win, from the opponent that ‘hits the wall’ and loses the game.

We will do a lot of plyometric, reflex and stretch training which will improve your range of movement for shots and increase your stride and power performance. When tired, your spacial awareness techniques can prove vital when positioning yourself and knowing just how far that baseline is from that lob the opponent has executed.
